Uh Start…
“Broken down to build again.”
Sub
Change doesn’t always come with force, sometimes, it rises slowly.
Uh, Start… uses the fermentation of sourdough as a metaphor for transformation. The bread, partially submerged and breaking down, mirrors the quiet, internal work of letting go.
What once fed us begins to dissolve, making room for something new to take shape.
What are we willing to break down in order to grow?

Uh, Start... captures the quiet tension between resistance and renewal. Set against a cool, almost sterile palette, these works speak to the inner work of change, slow, often invisible, but deeply necessary. The submerged form in Sub feels caught in process, suspended between who one was and who one hopes to become. In Ferment, clarity begins to form, though not yet fully shaped.
The use of sourdough starter as metaphor is deliberate: transformation is not instant. It is biochemical, spiritual, and personal. In this, the work mirrors the artist’s own journey of self-repair, recognizing that what heals may not always be dramatic, but it is deliberate.

Transformation is rarely instant. Like sourdough, it takes patience, pressure, and the right conditions. The image of fermentation mirrors how the Holy Spirit begins a work in us, revealing what no longer serves, and slowly making space for something more nourishing. In Uh, Start…, we’re invited to sit with the slow work of change, recognizing that God's process often unfolds beneath the surface.
“Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16
