THE COLLECTION
The Collection begins in the body, but reaches toward something much deeper: the memories, wounds, and systems that shape how we live and connect.
This multi-chapter, photo based project explores childhood trauma, memory, chronic illness and the subtle alienation through disruptions in our connections to health, community and identity.
Structured across a prelude and 2 chapters, Feet to Foundation, Mouth to Masses, and Hand to Heart, the project moves from the physical and institutional to the emotional and introspective. While each chapter and story within them functions on its own, together they mirror the body and its systems: connected, responsive, and shaped by its environment.
Rooted in lived experience, this work constructs a visual language that mirrors internal fragmentation and the struggle for clarity. Using symbolic objects, dense coloration, and layered translucent textures, the work becomes a site of emotional excavation, tracing grief, rupture, and the ongoing pursuit of healing.
Through intimately sculpted photographs, this body of work reflects on the experiences we suppress, inherit, or endure, and invites viewers to confront what has shaped them and recognize the power we hold to let go.
