Lead

"Shaped to serve."

With You

Who has shaped you, and how will you shape others?

I’ve crossed thresholds shaped by both struggle and support, each one marked by someone reaching back for me. Lead reflects the hands that guided, and the ones that now extend in return.

Here, leadership isn’t loud. It’s steady, side by side. Less about being seen, more about being there when it counts.

What if leading doesn't mean superiority? What if it means surviving together?

  • Lead considers what it means to guide with humility, less as a destination, and more as a posture formed through experience. The artist reflects on those who followed the servant leadership approach in helping him steady him through uncertain terrain, people whose presence offered strength without spectacle, whose care taught him how to hold space for others.

The hands across this triptych vary in shape and tone, evoking different modes of support: holding, bracing, reaching. Amidst the swirl of surrounding elements, their gestures remain calm, intentional. There’s a quiet authority here, not of dominance, but of responsibility born from love.

Through these images, Lead offers a meditation on influence: the kind that uplifts, that listens first, and that moves not above but beside.

  • Jesus redefined leadership, not through status or command, but by kneeling to wash feet. He led by serving, listened before speaking, and gave of Himself so that others could rise. Lead reflects that posture: open hands, steady presence, quiet strength rooted in love.

True leadership begins with following Christ, letting His example shape how we guide others. It’s not about being above, but walking with. Not about being first, but being faithful.

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant… just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”  Matthew 20:26, 28
